We are pleased to introduce Dr Jack Krysztofiak (Dr Jack) – Consultant Psychiatrist who has a permanent and private room at The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay).
Dr Jack has run a successful private Psychiatry practice for twenty years, helping patients in both elective and acute settings.
More recently, Dr Jack has been working for the States of Jersey as a Consultant Psychiatrist. In addition, he has been involved in various research projects, professional presentations, and is a member of various advisory boards. He has completed additional professional training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in which he holds an international certification – amongst other qualifications.
Dr Jack specialises in Neuromodulation and specifically Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technology. This is the first of its kind in Jersey, and we are proud to have the first TMS machine here at The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay).
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation is an effective treatment option for patients who are suffering from depression and other mood disorders, and who have not responded to mainstream methods of treatment. It is a low risk, non-invasive procedure with few side effects that offers the potential for long term remission.
The TMS neuromodulation technology improves nerve activity in the brain for the effective treatment of depression and other mood disorders, such as anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
This effective, non-invasive treatment modality is widely used in the UK and globally for the treatment of Depression and various other Mental Health and Neurological disorders.
The treatment is recommended in the NICE Guidelines, UK.
