We are very excited to welcome Jane Rayner (Light Therapist) to our Team at The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay).
Jane first found out about Red Light Therapy (RLT) more than a decade ago. RLT seemed like magic. Red light can aid in the healing process of many conditions varying from acne to aching muscles, and boosting the skin at the cellular level. No chemicals, no skin damage, just a better overall look to your skin. After extensive market research, Jane opened Bronzed Angel in the UK in 2013, and following its great success has now launched her new salon at The Wellness Centre (Castle Quay). The mon amie Red Light Therapy bed is the only one of its type in Jersey, and gives impressive results.
RLT involves exposing the body to low wavelength red light. Red light is natural and can penetrate deep into the skin where the cells can absorb it to help improve skin health.
There is plenty of scientific research on RLT
Even NASA has done studies on Red Light Therapy, but the best way to understand RLT is to try it yourself …
Benefits of Red Light Therapy
Skin Rejuvenation – Red light helps to rejuvenate skin by increasing collagen and fibroblast production, increasing mRNA in the skin cells, and stimulating circulation. These effects help improve the facial texture, reduce fine lines and reduced wrinkle severity.
Acne Treatment – RLT done either as a stand-alone treatment, or in combination with other treatments such as blue light therapy, can be an effective treatment for acne vulgaris. The deep penetrating light affects the sebum production, and as such reduces inflammation and irritation of the skin.
Wound Healing – Red light can be helpful in speeding up wound healing by reducing inflammation, increasing collagen production and fibroblast activity in the skin and stimulate the formation of new blood vessels.
Anti-inflammatory Benefits – RLT has both local and systemic anti-inflammatory effects on the body. As such it can be of benefit for various conditions which have their roots in inflammation. Although the research is in its early stages, there are suggestions that RLT can be beneficial in conditions such as tendinitis, arthritis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, etc. and can help with pain management linked to musculo-skeletal disorders.
